Connecting with cycle signal means that you connect the machine with signal from an external or internal sensor that counts cycles/pulses for each product goes by. With this solution you get OEE score with amounts.
You can connect the cycle signal with blackbox or OPC.
See picture below how Cycle signal works:
Production time signal
Connecting with production time signal means that you connect the machine with signal that is always on when the machine is running. With this solution you get the availability from the machine. If you want OEE score with amounts you even need to have a counter signal.
You can connect the production time signal with blackbox or OPC.
See the picture below how Production time signal works:
A counter signal works as a cycle signal without stop handling. This type of signal you need together with production time signal to get the OEE score with amounts.
You can connect the counter signal with blackbox or OPC.
Connect a scrap signal to your machine means that you can measure your scrap automaticlly.. You can take a signal from an external or internal sensor on your machine
You can connect the scrap signal with blackbox or OPC.
Connect a rework signal to your machine means that you can measure your rework automaticlly. You can take a signal from an external or internal sensor on your machine
You can connect the rework signal with blackbox or OPC.
Scrap difference signal
Connecting with a scrap difference signal means that you need 2 signals. The first one is a cycle signal and the second one is a scrap difference signal. The functionality is that we count the difference between the first signal and the second signal after you stop the order or article.
A typicle example for this is if you have a long line there you take away products manually as a scrap or rework. Then we can have this signal to calculate the difference between the first signal and the second one automaticlly.
You can connect the scrap difference signal with blackbox or OPC.
Open Platform Communications is a series of standards and specifications for industrial telecommunication. An industrial automation task force developed the original standard in 1996 under the name OLE for Process Control.
RS Production support booth OPC-UA and DA servers. If you already have the OPC infrastructure in place, please contact our support and we will guide you to get the OPC values to our cloud. You will need to install a gateway-server on your local network, configure which signals you need in RS Production and then you are ready to go.
Blackbox is RS Production standard machine integration box, it uses 24v or 230v signals to collect machine data through cycle or on/off signals the inputs can also be used for example to collect stopreason or scraps. The blackbox is also equipped with a number of outputs that can be set from RS Production using the built in event-system. The number of inputs and outputs varies with the blackbox model.
